A former conservative talk radio host known for his bombast, Tom Emmer is once again leading the Republican charge to win control of the House. Emmer’s legislative interests include transportation, agriculture, financial technology, expanded trade with Cuba, and supporting military veterans. After serving on the city councils of Independence and Delano in the western exurbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Emmer won a state House seat in 2004 and was re-elected easily in 2006 and 2008. He also was in private law practice.
