Tim Burchett, a colorful Tennessee politician, a former mayor and state legislator, accuses Democrats of wanting to destroy the American way of life. After graduating from Knoxville’s Bearden High School in 1982, Burchett earned an undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Tennessee. He ran a mulch business until 1993 when he lost a city contract. He closed the business and set his sights on politics.
