Steve Womack is at the center of House Republican efforts on budget and spending. “There is no refuting that the federal budget process is broken. It is vital that Congress continues these efforts to reform the budget and appropriations process this year, next year, and in the years beyond,” Womack wrote. He joined the National Guard in 1979 and was called to active duty in 2002. Womack became a financial consultant for Merrill Lynch in Rogers in 1996 and delved deeper into local politics in the small city in northwestern Arkansas.
