Personal Actions Commentary

Had public conversations with Democratic Governor Wes Moore at Washington National Cathedral and The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. Joined Democratic Governor Phil Murphy and Democratic Governor Jared Polis for conversations on Bret Baier's (Fox News) Common Ground podcast. Had public conversations across political differences with democratic legislators. Visited Salt Lake City alongside the democratic mayor.

Communications Commentary

"Politics is fundamentally broken in our country. It's turned into a competition to tear people down instead of an opportunity to bridge differences and bring people together. In Utah, our willingness to help our neighbors and collaborate to solve problems makes us unique in this increasingly toxic environment of tribalism. We have the potential to show the rest of the country how to treat one another, reach consensus on difficult issues, and build thriving communities."

Commitments Commentary

Affirmed Common Grounder Commitments.

Outstanding Commmon Grounder Commentary

Championed common ground by recording television ads with his campaign opponent followed by a joint op-ed saying, “Too many Americans now see their political counterparts not as friends, family and neighbors, but as enemies… we hope to serve as examples in re-forging a national commitment to civility and respect… Being decent to one another in politics is indispensable both because it is the right thing to do, but also because it works better… Collaborating with those with whom we differ strengthens our solutions.” Also championed common ground by leading the Disagree Better initiative as Chairman of the National Governors Association, including many national TV and print interviews.
