A former state treasurer, Ron Estes serves on two committees where his expertise may come in handy—the House Ways and Means Committee and the Joint Economic Committee. The aircraft industry has a major presence in his district, which includes Wichita, the “Air Capital of the World.” Before entering political life, Estes “worked in several different industries in consulting and management roles,” according to his official biography. “These industries include aerospace, oil and gas, automotive, and several other manufacturing and service corporations.” Estes’ previous employers include Koch Industries and Bombardier Learjet.
