A multimillionaire car dealer and former minor league baseball player, Roger Williams is a devout capitalist, and he wants everyone to know it. He has been a vehement opponent of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was created by the Dodd-Frank Act following the 2008 financial crisis. Williams began his foray into campaign fundraising in the 1990s when he served as regional finance chairman for Bush’s 1994 and 1998 gubernatorial campaigns.
