Common Ground Scorecard for Roger Wicker

U.S. Senate

Roger Wicker (MS - R)

Compare

Roger Wicker has links to several of his state’s political dynasties, and he brings elements of yesteryear to Congress: Even as the Republican Party has become more conservative and spendthrift, Wicker has used his seat, first in the House and then in the Senate, to steer government dollars back to Mississippi. A former House page under longtime Rep. Jamie Whitten (D-Miss.) and ex-aide to Trent Lott (R-Miss.), Wicker’s voting record has largely followed the majority of the Republican conference. When he does vote against members of his own party, it’s usually to stake out a more conservative position.
