Rick Scott, a former two-term governor of Florida, was an early supporter of Donald Trump’s quest for the presidency and aligned himself closely with Trump when he took office. Taking the helm of the National Republican Senatorial Committee chair in the 117th Congress, he’s now tasked with keeping the party together after the Jan 6. 2021 insurrection drew a new dividing line. Prior to politics, Scott helped build Columbia/HCA, a $20 billion behemoth with about 350 hospitals, and scores of other medical businesses. After leaving Columbia/HCA in 1997, Scott became a venture capital investor.
