Paul Tonko (NY-20 - D)
An engineer by trade, Tonko believes that federal policy should be based on solid science. For four years, he battled the Trump Administration on issues such as climate change and renewable energy. Tonko has taken a special interest in mental health. While a member of the New York Assembly, where he served for almost 25 years, Tonko sponsored a mental health parity bill, called Timothy’s Law, named for a boy who suffered from mental illness and committed suicide at age 12.
