Common Ground Scorecard for Mike Doyle
U.S. House
Mike Doyle (PA-18 - D)
[Retiring at end of current term.] Mike Doyle has maintained a low profile through more than two decades in the House, going about his work on the Energy and Commerce Committee in an unassuming manner and loyally voting the Democratic position. After college, Doyle had a job for a while with the nonprofit Turtle Creek Valley Citizens Union and then worked in the insurance business. He first entered public office in 1977 as a member of the Swissvale borough council. He was chief of staff for state Sen. Frank Pecora, a Republican, from 1979 to 1994. He and Pecora both switched to the Democratic Party in 1992.
