Self-described as a “Christian, father, and husband,” Michael Guest fits the mold of the Republican rank-and-file. He opposes President Joe Biden’s Democratic agenda, and embraced President Donald Trump’s policies, especially on border control and policing. At Mississippi State University, he got a degree in accounting in 1993, then went to law school at the University of Mississippi, getting his juris doctor degree. He went to work as an assistant district attorney for Madison and Rankin counties until 2008, when he was elected as the counties’ district attorney.
