Co-founded the bipartisan Congressional Baseball Caucus saying, "From the standpoint of building personal relationships across the aisle … any vehicle that helps us do that so that we can start actually doing things together instead of this gridlock we’re stuck in is attractive to me... When you know somebody personally and know a little bit about them and their family, I think it leads to a little more civility. I think we could use a little more civility in the House, so I’m for anything that helps do that.”
