Shadowing cattle ranchers, Lockheed Martin engineers, Starbucks baristas, and an Uber driver during his roughly 10 years in Congress, Marc Veasey has made bridging the needs of workers and employers in his North Texas district central to his work in Congress. While he’s a reliable vote for his party on most policy issues, the lawmaker has differed with some Democratic colleagues on employment issues he views as critical to his district, such as those likely to impact the oil and gas industry or the more than a dozen military installations based in Texas. Prior to entering politics, Veasey worked for an advertising agency and was a substitute teacher.
