Ken Buck is a former prosecutor and social conservative who was ushered into power with Tea Party support in a heavily Republican district. He blames both parties for Washington’s massive debt and has joined forces with Democrats to take unprecedented action against the growing power of large technology companies. After graduating from the University of Wyoming law school, Buck was hired by the state’s congressman at the time, Dick Cheney, to work on the Iran-Contra investigation. Buck remained in Washington as a Justice Department prosecutor before transferring to Colorado, where he became chief of the criminal division in the U.S. attorney’s office there.
