Common Ground Scorecard for John Yarmuth
U.S. House
John Yarmuth (KY-3 - D)
[Retiring at end of current term.] John Yarmuth is the rarest of political animals in red-state Kentucky: a progressive Democrat, who clashes with Republicans, but survives in the Bluegrass State because he represents the blue spot comprising the Louisville area. Yarmuth says he became a Democrat in 1985 after he felt the Republican Party, including McConnell, no longer represented his views. He was particularly bothered by the growing role of religion in politics; Yarmuth is Jewish.
