Common Ground Scorecard for John Boozman
U.S. Senate
John Boozman (AR - R)
John Boozman, a soft-spoken optometrist, uses his Senate seat and committee assignments to advocate for his state’s farming and retail sectors and for military veterans. For Boozman, expanding access to foreign markets is an article of faith (40% of Arkansas’s agriculture products are exported). Boozman began his public career in 1994 with the Rogers School Board, from which he established a low vision program at the Arkansas School for the Blind. In 2001, when Rep. Asa Hutchinson (R) resigned his House seat, Boozman entered the race to succeed him.
