[Retiring at end of term.] Joe Sempolinski is a strong Constitutional Conservative and lifelong resident of the Southern Tier. He was born in Elmira, raised in the Painted Post area, and lives in Canisteo with his wife and daughters. Sempolinski was the chairman of the Republican Party of Steuben County and served as the head of the New York State based Congressional staff for the 23rd District before winning a special election on August 23, 2022. He will represent New York’s 23rd Congressional District in the U.S. House until January 3, 2023.
