Advocating for the tens of thousands of federal workers and contractors in her district has been a priority for Jennifer Wexton, who represents well-educated suburbs of Washington and rural parts of northern Virginia with Washington commuters and the Central Intelligence Agency’s headquarters in Langley. At the end of her first year, she praised spending and defense policy measures that included a 3.1% pay raise and 12 weeks of paid parental leave for federal workers. Before her entrance into politics, Wexton worked as a prosecutor in Loudoun County, where she tried criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor and traffic offenses to domestic violence.
