Common Ground Scorecard for Gary Peters
U.S. Senate
Gary Peters (MI - D)
Gary Peters takes pride in his reputation as an effective legislator, frequently working across the aisle to advance his agenda on self-driving cars, forever chemicals, and government oversight. “I take great pride in working together in a bipartisan way,” Peters told WLUC-TV in an October 2020 interview. “I’m a Democrat, but I think the best solutions are those where we come together and find common ground.” Peters worked for 22 years as an investment adviser, first with Merrill Lynch and then with PaineWebber. He joined the U.S. Navy Reserve at 34 and attained the rank of lieutenant commander.
