A long-serving conservative from rural Oklahoma, Frank Lucas is the ranking Republican on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, where his homestate-driven interests include agriculture and aerospace. Lucas, who has served on the panel since 1999, is skeptical of scientific conclusions that human activities, and in particular the burning of fossil fuels, is causing climate change. Lucas had an early interest in politics and first ran for office in 1984.
