U.S. House
Elissa Slotkin (MI-7 - D)
Elissa Slotkin’s interest in and outspokenness on foreign policy and cybersecurity are rooted in her experience as a former intelligence and national security official in the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations, with a focus on the Middle East. She joined the intelligence community after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and ended up with three tours of Iraq as a CIA Middle East expert. The attacks changed the “trajectory of my life,” Slotkin said. In 2017 Slotkin returned to Michigan, once again living on the family farm, and started a national security and government affairs consulting business.
