Common Ground Scorecard for Daniel Webster

U.S. House

Daniel Webster (FL-11 - R)

Compare

After 40 years as an elected official, Daniel Webster remains a congressional outsider. The low-key politician is distantly related to the famed 19th century U.S. senator of the same name but says he himself doesn’t share the oratorical talents of his namesake and describes himself as a “plodder.” According to the Orlando Sentinel, Webster’s entry into politics came in a “roundabout way,” when he was in charge of getting county approval for a zoning request for the First Baptist Church of Florida, where he still teaches Sunday school.
