Ben Ray Lujan (NM - D)
Moving to the other side of the Capitol after a dozen years in the House, Ben Ray Luján advocates for a raft of progressive legislation that passed the House but stalled in the Senate during the 116th Congress. Luján worked for the state’s Department of Cultural Affairs and then as a deputy state treasurer until his election to the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission in 2004. Luján championed renewable energy production and also signed the Joint Action Framework on Climate Change, under which New Mexico, California, Oregon, and Washington agreed to create regional solutions to issues related to global warming.
