Common Ground Scorecard for Al Green
U.S. House
Al Green (TX-9 - D)
Al Green may be remembered as the member of Congress who most persistently tried to impeach President Trump. He began the effort in June 2017, just months after Trump took office, and stepped up his effort in June 2019, when Trump told four congresswomen of color to go back to where they came from. Green said Trump was unfit for office as a result of his racism. For about 10 years before serving in Congress, Green was the head of the Houston branch of the NAACP. He’s been active in civil rights issues and has been arrested at demonstrations.
