Reverend Dr. Darrius Butler worked in the banking industry while creating a non-profit with his mother to help struggling families find adequate and affordable housing. The death of Trayvon Martin in 2012 prompted Butler to become active – he joined the NAACP and became an organizer. Throughout adulthood he spent time with various pastoral mentors and congregations, until joining the City of Praise, where he is currently an associate minister.
