Marilyn Strickland (WA-10 - D)
Marilyn Strickland often touted her work as president and CEO of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce in her bid to represent the south Puget Sound area in Congress. In that role, which she left ahead of the campaign, she often advanced more centrist policy positions, particularly when it came to taxing some of the area’s biggest businesses. Strickland is the first Black member of Washington’s federal delegation, and is one of the first three Korean-American women in Congress.
