Governor Tate Reeves continues to build on his strong record as a conservative leader who fights to guard taxpayers’ dollars, improve educational opportunity, and grow new careers. His experience in the banking sector informed Reeves’ ability to balance the state budget – building up Mississippi’s rainy day fund and reducing the overall debt burden while cutting personal income taxes. When elected in 2003 for his first public office, Governor Reeves became the youngest state treasurer in the country and the first Republican to hold the office in Mississippi. He later served as Lieutenant Governor.
