Common Ground Scorecard for Juan Vargas
U.S. House
Juan Vargas (CA-52 - D)
Juan Vargas’ district includes California’s entire border with Mexico and he has applauded President Joe Biden’s initial steps to reverse his predecessor’s immigration policies, but has made it clear that more is needed. To these ends, the California Democrat has supported a variety of immigration measures in Congress. Water quality along the U.S.-Mexican border is another top priority for Vargas. He attended Harvard Law School at the same time as former President Barack Obama and returned to San Diego to practice law in 1991. In 1993, Vargas was elected to the San Diego City Council.
