After departing from the Navy and earning her law degree, Sherrill worked for the law firm Kirkland & Ellis in New York and later joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey as an outreach and re-entry coordinator before becoming an assistant U.S. attorney from 2015 through the spring of 2016.
