Brad Wenstrup, who joined the Army Reserves at age 39 and served a tour as a combat surgeon in Iraq, will go down in congressional history as the man who saved the life of Steve Scalise, the Louisiana Republican who was shot while practicing baseball with his colleagues. He served on the Cinncinnati Board of Health, which Wenstrup claims served him well in Congress. Wenstrup backed most Trump administration policies and was one of 126 House Republicans who signed the amicus brief contesting the 2020 electoral college results.
