Common Ground Scorecard for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
U.S. House
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14 - D)
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a self-described Bronx socialist who rocketed to national fame by toppling a 10-term member of the House Democratic leadership and taking office at age 29, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. She quickly established herself as a model for anti-establishment progressives, and as a leader of like-minded liberal freshmen. Her political education began as an intern for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), and continued as a volunteer for Sanders in 2016.
