Chris Murphy has made a name for himself as a determined and outspoken advocate for gun control in Congress. Gun control became a defining cause for Murphy in 2012, when 20 children and six educators were killed by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. Murphy continues to advocate for gun control in the wake of the recent shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. Murphy entered politics early, managing the House campaign of Democrat Charlotte Koskoff at the age of 23.
