Chris Pappas, New Hampshire’s first openly gay congressman, has focused much of his legislative work on military veterans. He is also advocate of the Capitol Corridor Rail project, which would extend commuter rail from Boston to his district’s population centers of Nashua and Manchester. After graduating from Harvard in 2002, Pappas served in New Hampshire’s part-time state House for four years and helped run his family’s restaurant in Manchester.
