Common Ground Scorecard for Ron Kind
U.S. House
Ron Kind (WI-3 - D)
[Retiring at end of current term.] An independent-minded Democrat from a politically competitive district, Ron Kind positioned himself as a voice for family farmers in rural western Wisconsin. First elected in 1996, Kind was in the top 10% of seniority among House members as the 117th Congress began even though he was still in his 50s. After the closest House race of his career in 2020, Kind weighed a Senate campaign for the seat of Republican Ron Johnson but instead announced in August 2021 he would not run for any office in 2022.
