Martin Heinrich (NM - D)
Martin Heinrich is an outdoorsman, conservationist, and green energy advocate whose adopted state of New Mexico provides a fitting geographic and environmental match for his policy passions, from national park expansions to clean energy projects. From 1996 to 2001, he served as executive director of the Cottonwood Gulch Foundation, a nonprofit natural science and environmental education program for young people. Heinrich was elected to the Albuquerque City Council in 2002 and among other things, pushed for the use of wind and solar power.
